Bicycle Repair
|
Bicycles repairers, who also repair mountain bikes, are technicians who specialize in the restoration of broken components on bicycles. In order to maintain their light weight frame and speed, bicycles are often fragile, with frames, rims, coils, gears, handles, cables, pads, and spokes that can easily bend or break when encountering obstacles. Though the aluminum and carbon fiber that bicycles are usually made from is very strong, bicycles are usually very susceptible to damage in general, and bicycle repair technicians, more often than not, replace old systems rather than repairing them. Mountain bikes are a lot stronger in general, but they often encounter a much more damaging array of obstacles than normal bicycles do, and so are still susceptible to injury.
Bicycle repair technicians also retrofit and install a wide variety of bicycle accessories, such as mileage counters, heart rate monitors, custom petals, custom rims, custom handles, and more. Bicycle repair technicians generally operate out of bike shops, but some will show up to the houses of clients, and repair the bicycles onsite for the customer’s convenience.
