Boat Cleaning
|
Boat cleaners are professional detailers of marine water craft. Depending on the size and use of a boat, boat cleaning can be either a simple or very heavy and detailed process. In general, boats are cleaned once per season, which usually amounts to nothing more than a simple washing of the hull, and detailing of the boat's interior. Some boats, which are continually in the ocean and kept in bays, often become populated with barnacles and other creatures which affix themselves to the bottoms of boats. Handling and removing these can be difficult and usually require boat cleaners to use scuba gear to clean them. In many cases, when boats have become worn and have lost some of their protective coating, boat cleaners will often reseal the exterior sections of the hull that have become exposed, using epoxy and resin for fiberglass boats, or the appropriate varnish for wooden boats. Boat cleaners will often do minimal amounts of such maintenance. For large boats, special equipment is sometimes needed to clean them, and some boat cleaners specialize in the cleaning of larger boats.
