Construction Coordinator
|
Construction workers and contractors are the professional builders who construct houses, apartments, factories, offices, schools, roads, and bridges, for private individuals, corporations, and even for the government. There are many types of contractors involved in construction projects – carpenters, electricians, masons, sheet rockers, to name a few – and all of them do specific components of the project under a supervising general contractor for each job.
Construction workers and contractors build residential, governmental, and commercial structures. Construction is usually coordinated by general contractors, who often specialize in one kind of the three types of construction mentioned above. General contractors are responsible for the whole job, unless specified otherwise. Though general contractors often handle a portion of the labor with their own dedicated crews, usually they subcontract a large percentage of the work to heavy construction crews or specialty trade contractors.
