Exterior Wood Refinishing

Exterior wood refinishers are specialists in the treatment and protection of wood against the harsh conditions of sun, weather, age, and insects, to keep the wood properly shielded and attractive in color and pigment. Exterior wood refinishers work for both residential and commercial clients and use a variety of chemicals – varnishes, lacquers, paints, etc – to coat the surfaces of outdoor wooden structures such as decks, gazebos, siding, patios, outdoor furniture, and other things. Over the course of time, to prevent damage, wooden structures need to be refinished and maintained regularly to keep their interior core from breaking down. Sometimes however, when the wood has already become damaged, exterior wood refinishers will often strip away the layers of wood that have sustained damage and will reseal and resurface the layers of wood that have retained their durability to ensure that the source of the damage is neutralized. If the wood has sustained excessive enough damage, through termite infestation and other conditions, sometimes large portions of the structure or even the entire structure itself needs to be replaced. Sometimes, exterior wood refinishers will also refinish and resurface wooden boats.
