Tile and hardwood professionals install new flooring into buildings from a variety of types of tile and wood, depending on the needs of their clients. Both tile and hardwood come in a variety of types and sizes, from small 1 inch squares to large 24 inch slabs. Tile can come in vinyl, ceramic, travertine, and more. Hardwood can come in pine, maple, bamboo, to name a few. Tile and hardwood installers generally work in one of two major fields: as contractors on construction sites, installing flooring into new buildings, or as professionals hired by homeowners to replace old flooring with something new. If hired to replace old flooring, tile and hardwood installers will also remove the old tile, carpet, or hardwood and prepare the ground before setting the new flooring. Some tile and hardwood professionals will also install carpet and some will also install outdoor flooring, such as decks and walkways.
