Masonry

Masons, also known as stonemasons, blockmasons, and brickmasons, are professional trade workers who specialize in brick, stone, and block. They make surfaces that are both attractive and durable, either for support or as an outer facade. Their work varies widely in complexity, from building a simple brick walkway, to installing thin sheets of marble as an outer facade on a high rise building. Some masonry work is done in the exterior landscaping of a property, such as walkways, fountains, retaining walls, and more. Other masonry work is done in the interior of a building or onto the building itself, such as granite tabletops, buildings made of bricks, or ornamental marble paneling. Depending on their specialty, masons may work with all different types of stone and brick, or may specialize in one particular area, such as granite or marble.
