We’re a passionate team full of supply chain experts, software developers and data analysts driven to achieve “service nirvana” by reinventing the world of purchased services contracting. 

Cost containment is a top priority. Service contracting is an often overlooked category to identify major cost savings for your organization. These purchased services are contracted, purchased from or outsourced to a third party vendor, rather than carried out by your in-house team. Sourcing and negotiating service agreements are challenging and require a unique approach for every category of service offering.

Our Story

With more than 40 years of supply chain and service purchasing experience in GPOs, the Servana team is creating a Group Intelligence Organization (GIO) to optimize the business-to-business-to-business (B2B2B) relationship and continuously expand offerings for our members.

We don’t pretend to be the smartest people in the room; however, through shared intelligence, Servana will make you the smartest buyers and service providers in the business!

Our roots run deep in Group Purchasing Organizations, and our solution complements the GPO model by filling in the gaps in the purchased services contracting process. Servana strives to strengthen the value of all its business partners and will provide relevant data including feedback on contracted service providers’ performance and current trends. The three-way partnerships created by the Servana platform will encourage contract compliance and reduce contracted supplier leakage.

Leadership Team

John H. Biggers, Jr.

Founder and CEO, Servana, LLC

Biggers founded Servana in October 2018 as a needed business to business solution in the purchased services space after having spent more than 28 years in leadership roles in group purchasing, sourcing and procurement. This move was the natural next step in creating customer value with innovative solutions unmet by the current systems and processes of the group purchasing approach. Prior to the formation of Servana, Biggers was the CEO of S2S Global (a wholly owned subsidiary of Premier), where he had overall P&L responsibility for Premier’s direct sourcing business, sourcing and importing commodity products from low cost countries. Leading up to his S2S Global role, Biggers was the Sr. VP of Group Purchasing Services, overseeing the strategy development and contract negotiations for over $44 billion in contracted volume in products and services for the GPO. It was in this role that he led the acquisition and integration of S2S Global and MemData, a capital equipment planning, benchmarking and asset management company. Prior to these executive management roles, he served in an administrative role with Premier Clinical Laboratory and Imaging Services, responsible for contracting strategy and operations. Biggers also formerly served as vice president of corporate business development for Premier, and as team leader for projects focusing on energy services and laboratory services, initiated the creation of two new Premier departments that focused on improved health care system efficiencies in energy consumption and laboratory operations. Pre-Premier, Biggers held several Supply Chain leadership roles with the SunHealth Alliance, one of three predecessors whose merger formed what is now Premier, Inc. He received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and completed a post-graduate Executive Development Program conducted by Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Lalit Thakur

Chief Information Officer, Servana

Lalit Thakur is a data executive that leads complete data lifecycle, spanning from data management & analytics to data science and monetization. During his career, spanning over a decade in data space, Lalit has driven data strategy, led data standards and championed migration of data platforms from conventional to modern frameworks. He enjoys being at the intersection of business strategy, technology and data. Lalit’s roles have spanned multiple domains – manufacturing, specialty chemical, healthcare supply chain, clinical and distribution. In those roles he has built digital backbone for the organization and has driven mission to lead & execute the strategy to monetizing globally disparate data. He has mentored in several hackathons to deliver data driven mobile apps and data driven operational savings. Lalit has been on several panels and presented on variety of data related topics. Lalit holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
